Hey friends, Bill here with a quick update. Annie awoke at 5am this morning to head to the hospital for her surgery, which for a renowned night owl is a pretty amazing feat by itself. It speaks to just how badly she wanted those implants out.
Everything went well. Her implants are now gone, gone, gone, replaced by fatty tissue. She was in the OR for over seven hours and is now in the PACU resting and soon waking up.
As an aside, things at the hospital continue to go well. The staff are all very patient-focused, and they even have a slushy machine to soothe those achy throats following surgery. As a UX-er, it’s been interesting noting the various service design aspects that have gone into this whole experience.
